About us

We started WAR because too many offices were being decided in a showroom.

Millions get committed to floor area, desk counts and hybrid policy on the strength of a mood board and a strong opinion. We thought the decision deserved data.

Origin

Two disciplines that rarely share a room.

Our founders came from opposite ends of the same problem. One side spent years analysing how organisations use their real estate — occupancy, cost per seat, attendance patterns. The other spent years designing the spaces those numbers described, usually without ever seeing them.

The pattern was consistent. Workplace decisions were being made on taste, precedent and whoever spoke loudest in the steering meeting. Post-occupancy measurement, when it happened at all, happened too late to change anything. Meanwhile the research that could have settled the argument sat in a consultant's deck, disconnected from the drawing set.

WAR exists to close that loop: measure first, strategise from the measurements, design from the strategy, then measure again once people move in. We hold no product commissions and represent no manufacturers, which is what keeps the research honest.
